Juliana Reis started her professional life as a journalist in Brazil. She then moved to France, where she lived for 15 years, finished a Masters in film, wrote and directed 5 shorts and institutional videos for UNESCO and SOS Racisme. She was awarded for an adaptation of Julio Cortazar’s “Cronopios e Famas”. In 2001, became a member of the College of Screenplay Readers of CNC (Centre National de la Cinématographie, in France). In 2004, negotiated an option of her first feature film script, The Invasion of the Plastic Bags, with Ed Rivero, from International Artists Inc, based in LA.
In Brazil since 2005, she’s developed fiction projects for directors João Jardim, Murilo Salles, Guto Bussab (South Africa) and Kim Chapiron (France). Teacher of scriptwriting at the Escola de Cinema Darcy Ribeiro and Faculdade das Artes do Paraná University; head coordinator of Screenwriting Workshops at Escrevendo & Filmes. Portuguese Translator of Yves Lavandier’s Writing Drama (La Dramaturgie).
